The market in Samui is still in a very healthy state. Just when we think the bubble has burst, a new wave of interest suddenly appears. There is definitely a continued growth factor due to the tsunami fallout, sending Phuket luxury home buyers and investors our way. This coupled with tourists and investors from overseas and not forgetting the wealthy Bangkok buyers, seems to be driving force. There is a constant demand every day in our office for one or two rai exclusive beach blocks in Samui, of which the island seems to have very little offering, and those that will offer small plots are demanding quite a surcharge, as much as 10 million per rai.
